We have established vegetable beds in the North-West area of the garden using a variety of methods from sheet mulching using cardboard, compost and manure, to the construction of long-term Hugel beds.
Our vegetable plots are an ever evolving process and volunteers are welcome to experiment with different growing methods and to share tips and advice. We are interested in developing this vegetable garden to include permaculture ideas and practice as well as more traditional growing methods so that we can compare results.
We aim to produce good crops with organic growing methods and use locally sourced manure and our own compost. We encourage communal growing and sharing so that at the end of a volunteering session folk can have some produce to take away.
