Vegetable Beds

We have begun to make vegetable beds in the North-West area of the garden using a variety of methods from sheet mulching using cardboard, compost and manure, to the construction of long-term Hugel beds. This season we have grown peas, sweetcorn and potatoes, with chard and onions, leeks and garlic planted elsewhere in the garden.

Our vegetable garden is in development and volunteers are welcome to experiment with different growing methods. We are interested in developing this vegetable garden to include permaculture ideas and practice as well as more traditional growing methods so that we can compare results.
